This is a Nine inch kidney bag - top view

 

This is a nine inch kidney shape bag with a curly koa top and bottom. This shape was the cause of some controversy here on Nantucket. A few years back a local merchant held a patent on this shape so that no other basketmakers could produce it. After a protracted legal battle her patent was revoked allowing different weavers to interpret this very popular style of handbag. I have chosen to give the top a crescent shape to add a touch of elegance.
