Basket parts and supplies

All baskets parts are produced here at The Basket Shop on Nantucket.  I specialize in a variety of exotic woods to make your basket something special.  They are typically used on the top of a purse, in a tray or bread basket, or for a turned wooden top. For all the prices indicated below  bases and handles are made from cherry.

Pre -made rims are all select reed and are baked to insure accurate sizing.  Of course different size material can be used to make the same size rim so you will have to rely on my sense of proportion in this regard.  I like to use smaller material for rims ( like many of the historic baskets I have seen ) than some, I don't feel it compromises the baskets strength and makes it look  more delicate.  Call if you need specifics.
